I understand what it is to struggle with feelings of self-judgment, of inadequacy, of never being quite good enough. So many of us feel this way! Approaches to treating that feeling of "not good enough" have changed over time. Through research on newer interventions based in mindfulness and self-compassion we have learned that we have been doing it all wrong! It seems a crucial piece of the puzzle is to look closely at the relationship we have with ourselves. Because often what really keeps us down is an inability to take care of ourselves in an appropriate, caring way. When we can't take care of ourselves appropriately, we begin to struggle...with anxiety, with depression, with stress, and with managing strong emotions.
Once I learned this, I began to focus my own training in mindfulness and self-compassion...because, of course, it was not enough to heal myself. It became important to share this information with others! I learned that we can began to heal by learning to befriend ourselves, to be kind to ourselves, to take care of ourselves and our difficult feelings so that instead of difficult feelings holding us back,we can hold them with kind, compassionate awareness. The key to healing self-rejection is self-kindness and the magic key to opening the lock to self-kindness is practicing mindfulness and self-compassion.
I completed my BS in Psychology through Central Michigan University and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Michigan University.
In addition, some of the mindfulness and mindful self-compassion formal trainings I have completed include:

It is becoming clear to the scientific and clinical communities that many of us struggle with a lack of self-compassion. Many of us struggle to be kind to ourselves, to manage our emotions effectively, to learn how to grow our own skills, talents and resilience, and to live the lives we were born to live.
